Little Larder is a wooden play kitchen sized for real homes. It has an oven with a window in the door, a sink with a removable stainless-steel bowl and a tap that turns, a two-ring hob with knobs that click, a shelf, and two hooks for utensils. It is 80 cm wide and 34 cm deep, so it fits beside the real kitchen, which is exactly where children want to cook.
Why a play kitchen is worth the space
Children imitate what they see adults do every day, and cooking is the most visible of all. Cooking for a toy, a sibling or a parent is language practice (menus, orders, recipes), maths (two spoons, three eggs), and social play (taking turns, serving, waiting). Play kitchens are among the toys that get used the longest: from three until well into primary school.
Natural or Sage
Natural shows the birch grain with white details. Sage has soft green doors and a natural worktop. Both have a 50 cm high work surface, the right height for children from three to seven.
Assembly and safety
Little Larder arrives flat-packed and takes about 75 minutes to assemble with a screwdriver. The carcass is FSC birch plywood and E1 low-formaldehyde MDF, finished with water-based paint. It comes with a wall anchor, and we ask that you use it: a child leaning on an open oven door is the most common way play kitchens tip.
Pots, pans and play food are not included. The Pebble Post shapes make excellent biscuits.
