Frequently asked questions

Orders, delivery, materials, safety and gift wrapping.

Choosing a toy

How do I know which toy suits my child’s age?

Every product page shows the age a toy fits best, not just the safety minimum. Our age guide explains what changes in play from birth to ten and lists the toys for each stage.

What is a good first-birthday present?

For a one-year-old, the Arc of Seven rainbow stacker and the Pebble Post shape sorter are both safe from 12 months and keep being played with for years.

Which toys can siblings of different ages share?

Glint Tiles (3 to 10), the Wobble Cove balance board (Grande holds 150 kg) and the co-operative game Otter Rapids work across a wide age gap.

Materials and safety

Are your toys safe for babies who chew everything?

Toys labelled 12 months and up have no small parts and use water-based paint tested to EN 71-3, the European standard for what may migrate from toy materials. See toy safety.

Do you use plastic?

Only where wood can not do the job: the sealed frames of magnetic tiles, the solar robot kit and the tyres of the balance bike. Packaging is always plastic-free.

Where are your toys made?

Our wooden toys are made by small workshops in Europe, using FSC-certified wood. Each product page lists the materials.

Orders and delivery

How much does delivery cost?

Delivery in Belgium and the Netherlands is €4.95 and free from €60. Other EU countries are €9.95. See shipping.

Do you gift wrap?

We pack every order in plain recycled card and leave prices off the delivery note, so it can go straight under the tree.

Can I return a toy?

Yes, within 30 days if unused and in its original box. See returns.

Can I actually order here?

No. Mathlab is a demonstration store: you can browse and fill a cart, but checkout is switched off and nothing is sold or shipped.
