Wobble Cove is a curved board of bent birch plywood with a layer of wool felt underneath. Put it curve-down and it’s a rocker and a balance trainer. Turn it over and it’s a bridge, a tunnel or a cosy place to read. Lean one end on the sofa and it’s a slide. It doesn’t come with instructions because children don’t need them.

What a balance board does

Rocking and balancing train the vestibular system, the inner-ear sense that tells the body where it is in space. Children who seek out spinning, rocking and climbing are often feeding exactly that sense. A balance board lets them do it indoors on a rainy afternoon, at their own pace and at floor height.

Junior or Grande?

Junior (80 × 30 cm, max 80 kg) suits toddlers from about 18 months and stays useful until seven or eight. Grande (90 × 32 cm, max 150 kg) suits children from three and is strong enough for a parent to stand on. If there are siblings with a big age gap, choose Grande.

How it’s made

Eight thin layers of FSC birch are glued and pressed over a curved mould, so the shape comes from the wood itself and there are no joints or screws to loosen. The top is finished with a clear water-based lacquer and the underside is covered in 3 mm wool felt. The felt makes the board quiet, stops it sliding and protects floors.

Always use it on a clear, flat floor, with an adult nearby for younger children.

Size, materials and care

Size: 80 × 30 × 18 cm (W × D × H), 3.4 kg. Materials: FSC birch plywood, wool felt underside, clear water-based lacquer. Recommended age: 18 months and up.

Wipe the top with a damp cloth. Brush the felt to clean it. Keep it out of direct rain if used outdoors.

Questions about Wobble Cove

What age is a balance board for?

From about 18 months, when a child walks confidently, with an adult nearby. Toddlers start by sitting and rocking; standing balance comes later. Children use it well into primary school.

How much weight can it hold?

Junior is rated to 80 kg and Grande to 150 kg. Both are tested to EN 71-1 for strength and stability.

Can it be used outdoors?

On grass or a terrace, yes, in dry weather. Do not leave it out in rain: the felt holds water and the lacquer is meant for indoor use.

Does it scratch wooden floors?

No. The whole underside is covered in wool felt, which is quiet and protects floors.
